On April 17^th, the Grand Jury for the Trends & Innovations contest was held to determine the ten best international food innovations of the year. More than 60 companies applied for a place in the selection, and 44 products qualified for the Grand Jury, a record number for the 5^th edition of the contest.

The ten winning products will be showcased at SIAL Canada, from May 9 to 11, 2012, in addition to a showcase at SIAL Paris, from October 21 to 25, 2012.

Of the top 10 products presented below, which all sport the “SIAL Canada Trends & Innovations 2012” seal of approval, only one received the ultimate “Grand Prize Winner” title. The latter was unveiled on May 9^th, 2012, at the Agri-Food Export Gala dinner: Citadelles's "Maple Pearls".
